Thank you for saying thank you. You're not alone! Of the people I know well, that I've spoken to personally about abandoning the Metaverse, more than half of told me they think about leaving every single day. Leaving isn't fun... but it is gratifying. Let me know if there are any questions I can help you answer!

I have started doing the same thing of thinking in terms of Facebook posts. I figured it isn’t healthy. Not only that, I started self censoring and feel like pavlova dog in my habit of checking social media like a reward. Nice to know In not the only one and it’s possible to leave and still be fulfilled.

I 'took a break' from Fakebook a while back, because I got tired of my brain being rewired to fear the censors and blizzards of hateful reactions that had been normalized. Didn't care for the fact that I was profiling myself for hidden players (CIAbook?) with every post. I do go back for the birthday feature, but only for a few minutes a day. That's a very sticky feature, and at some point I'll follow you out the door. Your article is both honest and accurate, and I appreciate you for writing it!

It’s really impressive how much FB changes thought patterns without us being fully aware of it. Thank you for sharing your experience!
